With the high turnover rate of many small businesses, reaching the 10-year milestone is no small achievement.
The celebration this month at Cartridge World Kalgoorlie for a decade of business in the Goldfields is a testament to the strength of the store.
The store first opened in 2003, after franchisee Carol Grillo came to the Goldfields to be closer to her two daughters, who lived in the region.
Opening on the same day as Ms Grillo’s 55th birthday, the occasions got the store off to the right start.
"I didn’t plan it, it just happened that way," she said.
"It has been a great little business, it has been very rewarding .
For seven of its 10 years of operation store manager Ronelle Young has been with Ms Grillo, forming a close working relationship.
"I’ve been lucky enough to have Ronelle here with me for most of the 10 years," Ms Grillo said.
"How she has put up with me during that time is beyond me."
With plans to end her involvement with the business and ease into retirement soon, Ms Grillo stressed the importance of the community support for local business.
"This is a great community, and I think people should shop locally with people they trust," she said.
"The strength of the Goldfields is having lots of local businesses in town."
