Cartridge World Hervey Bay is doing its best to help the region shake the stigma of having one of the highest unemployment rates in the country by offering a free resume printing service for job seekers.
Franchisee Chris Smith said job seekers actively looking for work could come into the Torquay Road store with their completed resume and Cartridge World would print six copies free of charge.
"We have been thinking for a while about the high unemployment rates in Hervey Bay and would like to do our bit to help", Mr Smith said.
"We will print you six full-colour resumes at no charge, you just need to bring your completed resume in on a USB or CD." "We are just trying to do our little bit to help the community get going again."
Hervey Bay Chamber of Commerce president Bernard Whebell applauded the initiative. "Cartridge World should be congratulated on offering this service which will genuinely assist job seekers," Mr Whebell said.
"The resume is the first point of contact with a prospective employer and we all understand how important first impressions are. I would encourage other businesses that could assist to join the cause and help reduce unemployment across the region."
